My boy, he's scared of shadows,
But you must see his sunny smile,
He lights up any place he goes,
You can feel his warmth from half a mile.
My boy, he loves to play all day,
And he needs no friends or pet;
Children are supposed to be that way
In their pristine rainbow worlds, you bet!
My boy, he's truly the most awesome,
Perched in the center, the big bright sun,
Believing I am god, friend and his mum,
All happily rolled together into one.
My boy, he's our bundle of eternal sunshine,
And we're here, plunged in a dark abyss;
If only we had the words, all dressed up fine
To express how much his warmth we miss.
It's cold here this summer, icy and lone;
I see his hands stretch out to me
In his small dreams, though he has grown,
He's all of six, you see...
Heartfelt --- thanks for writing this .. Loved reading it.
