It's been a year since...

We left Kolkata
We came to Gurgaon
We began a new chapter

Building block by block
Caring for each moment
Of togetherness

Life has been uphill
Teaching hard lessons
Tenderly…

R, S and I set out on a journey last year. We didn’t know where we were headed; we just wanted to explore. It was a life fraught with difficulties, but we survived to tell this story.

S and I hit several wrong notes before discovering the right one – ours. If ever in retrospect, I would single out this year as the toughest in our relationship. But this was also the year that reaffirmed our faith in the institution of marriage. This was the year when I learnt what he meant to me. This was the year when we learnt to put aside all differences and stay on the road, even if it was rocky.

R and I were on a finding spree. We found friends, we found companions, we found time, we found love, we found belonging, we found each other. He wiped my tears, he calmed me, he mothered me. If there’s one lesson motherhood teaches you, it has to be patience. Yes, all that they say about bliss and fulfilment, yes, yes, all of it is very true. Nothing and nobody could ever consume me the way R can, and gladly so.

A year is a long time… for three people to build a home, for three souls to make a charmed circle… yet we are still at it, making this dream more real each day!

A year is a short while… for a journey without a destination… but this surely looks like a fun stretch!
